Where it comes from. Almost all of it comes from you. If the link you used to reach us contains a campaign tag (for example from one of our adverts), we record that tag with your form. We may also look at public information you point us to, such as your LinkedIn profile, publications, products or press coverage, to prepare for a call. If you fill in a lead form on LinkedIn, LinkedIn passes us the details you entered.

Sensitive information. We do not ask for information about your health, ethnicity, religion, political opinions, sexual orientation or criminal record. If a document you send us contains it, we use it only to prepare your application, with your explicit consent, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

Only the people who need your data to answer you or to work on your application can see it. Our website runs over an encrypted connection, our accounts are protected with strong passwords and two-step sign-in where available, and we choose providers with recognised security standards.

No system is completely secure. If a breach puts your rights at risk, we will tell you and, where the law requires, the ICO within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.

11Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you

  • Restrict how we use your data, for example while we check a complaint
  • Move data you gave us to another organisation, in a common format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it. This does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.

Your right to object. You can object at any time to our use of your data based on legitimate interests. You can also tell us to stop sending you marketing emails, and we will always stop.

To use any of these rights, email info@tier1globaltalentvisa.com. It is free. We reply within one month. If your request is complex, we may extend this by up to two more months and will tell you why. If we need to confirm your identity or understand what you are asking for, the time limit starts once we have that information.

12Automated decisions

Our eligibility checker shows you an indicative result based on your answers. It is a guide only. It does not make any decision about you that has a legal or similarly significant effect, and a person reviews every checker result you choose to send us.

13Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have used your data, please tell us first. You can use the form on our contact page, email info@tier1globaltalentvisa.com with the subject line “Data protection complaint”, or write to us at the address in section 15. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it, keep you informed of progress and tell you the outcome without undue delay.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator for data protection: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or call 0303 123 1113.

14Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least once a year and when the law or our services change. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we plan to use your data for a new purpose, we will tell you before we do.
